Oliver gets a 3D Parkour TWIST

Endemol-backed prodco Pure Grass Films is making a 3D update of Charles Dickens' classic novel Oliver Twist, mixing parkour into the action.

The feature film, titled Twist, is due to go into production next March and is being co-produced by film financers and marketers The Salt Company. It will have a theatrical release late next year or early 2013 with a variety of digital content being made available in the run up.

The updated story will see Fagin's gang attempt a "serious of audacious thefts using parkour" - a form of urban acrobatics similar to free running.

Pure Grass is currently in the process of casting 16 to 24 year olds with experience at this, freerunning, skateboarding, gymnastics or similar.

Pure Grass is a cross platform entertainment firm that counts Endemol UK CEO Tim Hincks as an advisor. The Big Brother company invested in Pure Grass in 2008 after it partnered with MySpace to revive the Hammer Horror franchise with web series Beyond the Rave.
