Red Bull Media is shopping the modern take on the Charles Dickens tale to buyers at the European Film Market.
BERLIN — French filmmaker Frederic Jardin has signed on to direct Twist, a modern-day, 3D take on Charles Dickens‘ Oliver Twist, which will begin shooting later this year.
the French crime drama Sleepless Nights (2011), is currently directing episodes of the International Emmy Award-winning action series Branquo for Canal Plus.
Set in modern-day London, Twist follows a young graffiti artist who gets taken in by a street gang that uses parkour, or urban free-running techniques, to pull off art heists.
The feature will be shot in 3D and produced by extreme sports specialists Red Bull Media House, London-based production and sales outfit The Salt Company and Pure Grass Films, a London-based shingle part-owned by Christophe Charlier, chairman of the Brooklyn Nets NBA basketball team.
Red Bull will be shopping the project to international buyers at the European Film Market in Berlin.
